Desert Fast Pitch Competition Prize Winners!
The Desert Fast Pitch competition took place Wednesday, Oct. 26 and this year’s winners have been chosen. The following organizations will divide $45,000 in prize money:
RAP first Prize, $20,000, went to Galilee Center, which assists underprivileged and disadvantaged individuals and families.
The “Coaches Most Improved Award”, $15,000, went to Focus on Student Success is likewise “focused” on youths who are having difficulty making good choices in oftentimes troubled family environments.
The “Audience Choice Award”, $10,000, went to Desert Best Friends Closet, properly clothing and preparing financially disadvantaged job seekers.
Six finalist nonprofits completed training and received smaller grants during the months-long program. All of them made compelling “pitches” describing their organization’s mission, model and impact in 3-minute presentations.
The Fast Pitch competition was the final activity in the day-long Nonprofit Conference featuring several expert and motivational speakers, along with focused workshops.
